Code in C++

I don't know if this is the right place to post this message, but it is the only place I could find. I am making lighting effects that will be interfaced through a program that I will right. In order to accomplish what I want to accomplish I need to know how to get the data from the spectrucm anylyzer. Is there a way to do this, and if so, can someone lead me in the right direction? but maybe http://www.winamp.com/nsdn/ can give u some clue how such stuff is done in winamp plugins ...

also http://www.sonicspot.com/developer.html maybe could be useful for u ... there's some audio library for c++ there ...
