WinCue v1.31 has finally been released!

Get it now, at http://www.wincue.org/

What Is WinCue?
--------------
WinCue is a WinAMP playlist cue program and MiniDisc recording tool. It is a
WinAMP general-purpose plug-in which makes it easier to manage your media file
collection and record MiniDiscs, using an internal Media Library or external
playlist files.

The Media Library consists of any number of specified folders on your
computer. When the Media Library is loaded, the folders are scanned, and all
the media files are listed in WinCue. This makes it easier to keep track of a
large media file collection that might be spread over several drives and
directories.

WinCue also features something called 'DelayPlay', simplifying MiniDisc
recording by inserting a user-defined delay between each song in a playlist.
This can be used to make the MiniDisc recorder automatically insert track
marks between each song.

What Is New In WinCue v1.31?
----------------------------
Here's a list of what you can look forward to in the new version:

* Improved online help.
Rewrote document accessed from the "Instructions" item on the "Help" menu.
* Finally added WinAMP skin stealing. It doesn't look great, but it kinda
works.
* Fixed problem with tray icon menu not disappearing when clicking outside
menu or main window.
* Improved WinAMP plug-in configuration dialog.
Added check-box for showing/hiding the WinCue window as well as a "Save &
Restart" button.
* Fixed a problem with ID3v1.1 tags and track numbers.
* Numerous bugfixes and minor improvements.

Anders,

You seem to be the most knowledgeable with WinCue. As many MiniDisc owners I am looking for a gap between songs. First, I am wondering if a one second gap is enough, most people on this BBS talk about a 2 second gap. Secondly, I have downloaded WinCue but I am not sure if I should be using Winamp as usual to download the songs to my MiniDisc player or should I be transferring them into WinCue. When I copy them into WinCue the song titles are not listed properly but appear such as yyyyyyyyyl$]{.
I am reading your manual on the help section but if you have a quick answer it would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I am not clear as to how I create song titles to appear on my MD screen and I am also not clear on how to use the playlist feature for the media file.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

First of all, you should get WinCue v1.32, as many bugfixes and improvements have been done in this version.

The amount of gap needed to split a track varies from player to player. I usually use a 5sec gap, but maybe also 1-4sec could work.
In general, it shouldn't cuase problems to have a long gap. i.e. 7sec. At least then you are certain the MD recorder will recognize the delay and make a track mark.

The easiest way to record a MiniDisc with WinCue is to set up your playlist in WinAMP, then either save the playlist as an .m3u file and open it in WinCue, or simply tell WinCue to steal the playlist (i.e. by selecting "Steal & DelayPlay" from the WinCue sub-menu of the WinAMP right-click menu.

Currently, song titles can only be transferred to the MD recorder by using an external hardware device called WinRemote. It also only works with Sony MD decks.

I'm hoping to add support for several other titling devices and MiniDisc recorders in the future.

Hope this helps.
