Poor Sonique (Winamp still kicks)

Yeah, Winamp still really whips the Llama's arse and all, but we dont want Sonique to kick the bucket do we?????????? HELL NO!

Although, it doesn't have 1/2 the performance of winamp, and still lacks some cool features, and has some occasionally nasty bugs Sonique is still a brillant player, with one of the most innovative GUI's for its time.

So lets all hope Lycos' budget cuts down affect Winamps competition too much.....

Maybe some of u smart programmers out there can help them out, voluntry! Even making Sonique open-source couldn't be to bad an idea.
(Except I only know java, but thats my problem!)

Lycos has already screwed Sonique into nothingness, but I head the prgrammers are working in secret to release Sonique2.

As for thier site and their forums, completely DEAD. :(

Sonique? Never heard of it.
Winamp is the best ever, forget about Sonique. Lycos is only good for the website networks. Its also part of the TerraLycos Network. So why would we want to help Sonique? 90 million Winamp users can't be wrong.

ok... doesn't mean they are right. china has a huge population doesn't mean they are more powerful than the US when they say they are. (they say so through their actions)

The more competition for Winamp the better Winamp gets because the player gets ideas from competition and builds on its own features to compete. I just hope Nullsoft doesn't pull too much of a Microsoft and buy all of its competitors :D They have already started though :(

Ok, ok. I may have gone overboard with "can't be wrong". But you are right, we get ideas from our competitors to make Winamp better than ever. But for a matter of fact Sonique is not as competitive to Winamp as MP7 is to Winamp. So its a competition for Winamp to dominate the mediaplayer market. It will be a rough finish for first betwen Winamp and MediaPlayer7. One advantage that MP7 has is video capabilites and able to rip cds, and Winamp only has audio.:( But an advantage for Winamp is its a very small file to download, and MP7 is a big file to download, and has a way to utilize plug-ins.:)

True. But I needed something compareable here. And the only two that I know that are popular are Winamp and MP7. Sorry if I got MP7 confused as an AudioPlayer.:o
