Say I make rectangular winamp backround picture and leave a strip of transparent area at the bottom of the backround. When I load this skin, I see the desktop through the transparent area. Cool. Now if I change the xml so that the volume slider is in the transparent area...boom!...it's gone. Anyone understand my blathering? Can anyone help me put a volume slider hanging out in space? Thanks.

YOu can't place anything on something without a background...
I guess you can do it with scripts...

You need to put a layer behind your slider and give it the sysregion="1" xml parameter. When shown it'll add its region (with alpha) to the region of the whole window. When hiden the region will be removed from it.

does sysregion param work in Beta 1? I remember that it didn't work in the previous alphas. Also, can groups be outside the sysregion?
