Take The SORITONG Skinning Challenge

I can't skin.

Whats It About: Soritong was this program made whenever and hasn't been updated since whenever. Soritong had terrible sound compared to Winamp for Mp3's and no animations. But, Soritong had some of the best free form skins (few they were) I have seen. (RealJukeBox has some good ones but Real really sucks).

Now For The Challenge: I Challenge an expert emerging Winamp skinner to make a Winamp 3 Skin based on Soritong.

Groovy Challenge: If someone can make a Soritong skin see if you can also make a S.A.P. skin also made by soritong. Check out the site to see for S.A.P. your self. It would be scriptazing if someone could get AVS to be in the background and have the playlist and main window buttons be on top and have a thinger style switcher somewhere in there to switch between top view overlays. You'll know what I mean when you try out SAP.

i didn't mean that about the "style" or the "look" of the skins... i just think its a waste of time to start porting the look of other audio players to winamp3.
Its not creative, and probably won't happen since i doubt the original author would give such permissions.

it is kinda sad if we port every other audio palyers skins to winamp3. (even though then all the converted users will like us more)
But like WiMP's winamp2 skin plug-in sucks.
It shows that winamp2's skins are cooler than WiMp's and that they want our skins.
We own the music playing industry. Lets not act like we are clones.
Let other people clone our skins.

lunarboy1 , i do not hate your skin. I actually would like to thank you for helping pave the way for new WA3 skins. What you did was work with the engine, see whats possible, whats not, try out new things, reflect on your difficulties, help bring skinning ideas to the nullsoft guys. And the easiest way to do this, is to take competition skins and see how far you can get with them. You did a great job.

But now since the skinning engine has fully proven itself, let your creativity roll. See, i'm not being harsh, i never meant to :p

I agree too, Winique is a great skin!

To get ontopic, I've had some inspiration (a while back) on that base skin... And I made "blades" (not working, unfinished skin) on it..
I can post a screenshot :) It was one of the first with the AVS on it's main component :)

it was lunar boy's inspiration that wanted me to see skins of other lesser players be moved over to winamp 3

1. the skins are cool
2. the players suck

in conclusion cool skins on a cool player equals more followers of winamp! lunar boy will you take the pepsi challenge?

one little suggestion no*name, ... use the noshowcmdbar="1" param in your avs <component> ... "Open Editor" and "Go fullscreen" will go away, it looks so much nicer without them :)
