start from scratch?

edit the default (make back-up of course)?

or what..??

I made the skin in photoshop, then I zipped up the default skin to /skins/template/, then I started cutting up my photoshop sketch and replacing PNG's and XML. Learned the XML stuff as I was copy & pasting and trying out stuff, so I think it's a good way to learn.

in addition to everybodies god advice, i'd screw around with the default skin first to learn what you can do with things.
