Ryan,

I still have problems with the "P" key - it locks up the computer just like previous versions have.

Also, my Scroll Lock key does some unusual things in Milkdrop, and it tends to make the other LEDs do unusual things as well, perhaps this is just my computer though.

Just a suggestion (which I think has been made before) - is there any chance of more custoisation regarding timing of the animated titles (eg. appearing every x seconds, having separate controls for the warp and for the time it is there).

Just a query too, nearly all my presets seem to have a max frame rate of 30 fps no matter what I do, but four kinds of amphetamines and hyperion go up to nearly 50 or 55 fps. I think Krash explained that the fps is not really the true frame rate, but it's calculated differently. Just curious if anyone can explain why.

Thanks once again for a great plugin!

Our thought was that the FPS displayed by milkdrop is more like an internal "guess" at how many frames per second are being calculated by the engine. This isn't quite the same as the actual FPS being rendered by the graphics card (for some setups, this seems obvious, as at least on my machine a reported FPS of 8.5 or so in super-high-rez super-high-mesh still looks like it's actually rendering at least 30 frames or so per second, otherwise you could literally see a jerk in the motion, not just a slow-down in the effect). It could just be a symptom of how much work is handed off to the video drivers...I'd imagine on an older vid card that doesn't do as much on-board processing the numbers are closer to the true value. 1.0 seems to report a bit more accurately for me, but 1.0 is a good deal faster for me overall, and it could just be that the internal speed is actualy approaching the rendered speed. (Even MY presets run reasonably fast on 1.0! WOOT!)

Hitting P still crashes on win ME but works perfectly on win 2000. SM

Sorry, forgot to mention, I'm running Win98SE.

To tell you the truth I do not even run MD in win ME anymore because it is so much faster and reactive in win 2000 that it is hardly even worth it in ME. The only reason I have ME is for sequencing because the program I use works fine in both op's but in ME I have more flexibility and can name my songs with more than 8 letters. SM

huh?!?!?!?
Every PC OS since win95 has been able to have filenames longer than 8 chracters. And Macs (which I personally detest, but that's beside the point) have had it for even longer.

Krash let me clarify, the sequence program I use with my studio is Powertracks Pro version 6.03 and in Win2000 it will not let me name the sequence files with more than 8 letters and if I load one from ME that has more than 8 into win 2000 it will only show 8 letters, it is not something that I am too worried about but it is nice to see the whole name if it is more than eight letters for that reason I use ME for my sequencing, as win 2000 has no advantages over ME in that respect. As for presets not working right. I shut down my pc every night when done and reboot after I install something which is on the average about twice a day, but last night I watched milddrop with version 1.0 for about 3 hours and did not have one problem, so who knows what causes some of the presets not to work some of the time, as for now I am very happy with the new MD it seems smoother and more responsive, and for win 2000 I consider it 99.99% bug free. Time now to go and enjoy my many wonderful presets in Milkdrop. SM
