Hello

does anyone have any idea of how to get your station listed on the iTunes radio tuner.

I know that Apple used to use the kerbango tuner, but since that is no more they've started doing their own... unfortunately there's no info anywhere that I can find that says who to contact to add a station to their lists.... which are, for the most part way out of date right now!

any ideas?

Richard

Same here. Our radio is pretty stable (running for almost 2 years now) and is 25th on the shoutcast TTSL. We were listed in the iTunes radio listing some months ago, but since the shutdown of Kerbango, we aren't in the listing anymore. I tried to trace where iTunes was getting the listing, and it come from a server in teh apple.com network serving the listing as an XML file.

There is nothing on the server for submitting a Radio station or contacting anybody.

If anywone could help us on this, I'd be very thankful =)

They stopped taking statons some time ago supposedly until the new version of Itunes comes out which is supposedly going to be under some type of pay structure...nore than likely worthless to get listed with them anymore.

They have stopped adding stations until the following happens:

(from e-mail):

The hold on new stations right now is for legal paperwork only. Since you are already broadcasting with us you don't fall into the same category for legal that new broadcasters will. There will NOT be a fee to anyone for being in the Directory, not sure where that rumor came from. We are just on hold briefly while we get some DMCA legal paperwork in order for our broadcasters.

Hope that clears this up!

from what i've heard through the grape vine, it is a riaa issue as they do seem to own 99% of the itunes player.

now this is only rumor from what i have heard. our station is listed with itunes and more than 30% of our listeners use it.

however, we have been listed since the very begining and it have seen various people manage the list so i am not really sure whats going on.

It is odd how some people keep getting managing the iTunes directory "dumped on them" for a few months...

Kinda catty aren't we? There aren't very many threads if you want to talk about iTunes...

Rude much?

And btw... isn't time in the eye of the beholder?

however, since this thread might have been listed as old in your overly advanced file system you call a brain, I am just wandering back to the forums and was doing searches on certain topics and felt the need to post my tidbits.

But since it seems I have rudely awoken you, I have decided to leave a few more tidbits on this thread to watch this "old" topic bump at least one more time.

;p

Have a nice day!
