i prefer audiogalaxy, but there is one major flaw.

when you put a song in to download, it works on the FIFO philosophy. for all those who doesn't do computing, it's First In, First Out. so you put a song in the queue, that'll be the first to download. this way, you can have a song the you put in ages ago, and it won't download until all the most recent songs have finished. i've had mampi swift illusions in queue for over two months, and damn it's getting annoying. maybe i'll switch to winmx...

oh, and producer, read the sig :D

I haven't noticed the FIFI problem with audiogalaxy. The problem I have noticed is that all of the songs I want are getting harder to find. I've tried out morpheus and songspy, and the song selection of those services are pretty poor too, nothing like AudioGalaxy back in its glory days.

What problems did you have with winmx hon? I think it is so easy to use. My children can even use it! The interface is easy, search is fast, and I have never had a problem finding the song/album I was looking for.

If you are bored one day, you may want to try it again. I have no problems connecting to the servers. I am connected to 9 main servers right now.

If you are queuing files, and the most recently queued ones get downloaded before the older ones, tha would be Last In - First Out. i.e. A Stack, instead of a Queue.

Whatever you want to call it, that would be a stupid design implementation.

Audiogalaxy downloads songs from my queue in FIFO order, like it should. I don't know what you're talking about.. if I add more songs they get put on the end of the queue and download when the older songs are done.

Yeah, that's the problem with AudioGalaxy gremmlin.

Morpheus can download the same song from multiple sources at once.

It also gives equal priority to all things being downloaded at once - so a really slow transfer doesn't slow up things beneath it in the queue.

I've never really used WinMX, but I've downloaded it because apparantly you can make it run from zipdisk without needing files installed in your windows directory.

Ah the joys of broadband... It must be a wonderful thing.
Where I live it's not even an option. 56K or nothing.

Napigator used to be great, but it got hijacked by people using WinMX 2.6 and not sharing any files:( . So now I use WinMX as well:) .

I really really really miss Napster.

I use morpheus if I want a song and want it NOW, because of how fast it connects and the way it uses multiple connections to download really really fast. They arent't ecaxtly real well encoded, but they're good enough.

I use Gnucleus if I want to just share files and browse and download random things.
