I've decided to make a skin for the Apple iPod (http://www.apple.com/ipod). If you can't be bothered following the link, here's the summary: The iPod is a 5Gb portable mp3 player, it looks very cool, and everyone loves apple because apple is so great. (Well it is a link to apple.com :D).
Of course the photo looks cooler, but its harder to work with, so here's my traced version (ie what the skin will look like before i pile in all the extra stuff that's in winamp but not the ipod):

Now question is, what do I do with all the winamp stuff that isn't on the iPod? I've decided that the middle circle should be 'stop', a function i can't see on the picture (has anyone used one of these?).
I'll probably also end up putting some texture (bumps or something) on the scroll wheel and using it for volume.
This still leaves a couple of things though...
1) What about eject? Double it with stop like play/pause is already (btw if anyone knows how to script these it would be much appreciated)
2) Crossfade/repeat/shuffle? I have no idea... maybe add tiny buttons on the top or side, or maybe put them on the lcd looking software-ish?3) EQ/ML/PL buttons
4) Thinger button
5) Scalers, minimise, winshade buttons.
6) And what would the winshade look like? The iPod end-on? :D

Alternatively, i could go into some heavy scripting and have menu go into a list of options on the lcd (replacing track title, time, mini vis, etc), and leave the context menu for right click. Would this be confusing?

HELP!
TIA,
tunah

I downloaded this iPod skin for Winamp2. It looks so realistic and it matches with my desktop theme, but it doesn't work with the newer versions of Winamp. Is there a newer version of this skin? Or is there a plugin that allows older skins to work with newer Winamp versions???

Gosh, well done for resurecting a thread that's 5 years dead :igor:

I'm guessing, but I'd say the author probably isn't checking out after 5 years.

Go search the skin database, there are dozens of iPod lookylikeys in there, most of them work a lot better than an ancient old skin that likely hasn't been worked on for 5 years, that's the third time by the way that I've mentioned this thread is 5 years old......
