I have an intro file for my shoutcast server. It works on machines running musicmatch jukebox or quicktime to listen to the stream. However when I try to listen in Winamp or Realplayer, it will only play the intro file and then disconnect, never playing the streaming audio. Does anyone know what the problem could be? If you want to try listening to it, here is the link http://198.102.147.31:8000/listen.pls

is your intro file and stream the same bitrate and frequency?

in other words
do you broadcast at 56k 22khz stereo?

Aah, that may be it, the intro file is 22khz and the stream is at 44khz. Do you know of any programs that will convert and mp3 from 22 to 44khz. Even if you don't thanks for the help, Matt

Mahoozy

It seems you had the same trouble as I am having now.

How did you get this thing running?

I got mine fixed by taking the mp3 and reencoding it in the correct format. My mp3 was recorded at 56kbps, 22khz, mono and my stream was 56kbps, 44khz, mono. I got this program called Waver v2.5 off of the internet at http://www.waver-converter.com
it fixed the problem for me. to use it, go to add file, choose files of type to be MP3, then click on the file with the wrong encoding. under choose format click on MP3 and then choose the correct settings it needs to match the stream. If you don't want to overwrite your current file, then make sure at the bottom you choose a different folder to put it in. Then click open. Then start conversion. When it is complete you can listen to your newly encoded mp3. Mine lost a little bit of it's quality, but not much, you can't really tell across the connection anyways. Hope that helps, Matt
