Hi all,
I decided to make my first skin from sratch. So I red as much as I found here and used the simple.wal file as a base for my work.
the fact is, everything I tried worked the background excepted
look at this picture. On the left, the preview of the skin and on the right the winamp with the same skin. See the border. They are cut here and there and the shadow is black. The fact is that, even if I remove the shadow I still have those black borders.
can you tell me where I should have a look to find what's wrong ?
thanx a lot.

The .zip has just a screenshot in .png, a skin.xml which seems to be the one from Simple Skin, an empty xml/ directory, and the gfx/ dir with some pics from the skin.
=> it can't work on w3b2.
For your problem, did you try to delete your studio.xnf ?
By the way, hello r-Kelleg :)

I downloaded the beta version 3 days ago from the winamp website. It's the beta1 build 448. Is there a more recent one somwhere ?
and BTW I don't even know what the studio.xnf file is.. I found it in the winamp folder. what is it for ? can I delete it ?

beta 2 "Cold" was released 2 or three days ago. Check the others WA3 forums, or fileflash, for the download URI.
studio.xnf seems to cause problems when you use new versions of skins. You can delete it without risks. If it's your lucky day, perhaps your skin'll work properly then.
PS: I'm no more working at GameData, and am some kind of lurker there.

use desktopalpha="1" inside your layout tag...
It seems you have a antialiased edge of the skin, that causes the black border... :) Also it wont work on 98/me (or 95) on 2000 and XP it looks ok i guess

#desesperate#
I downloaded the beta2 and my skin does not work anymore. well... I will have to redraw it again.... about the shadow, I don't have win2000 nor xp , so I will remove this feature.
thanx to both of you :)
here is another skin I did and that is working with the new fersion. Unfortunately it's "just" an edition of the default .pgn files.
enjoy.
