A lot of times while listening to certain songs I'll find that a certain preset goes with a certain portion of the music, but I don't want to fumble through the list to access it. If there were some way to assign certain presets to say, the numeric keypad then it would really make the experience a whole lot better for the user and for show. Instead of browsing through a long menu you could simply slam a key and produce some amazing effect.

Furthermore, if there were some way to preprogram a sequence of presets it would be even more amazing. You could make stunning, flawless sequences (not prerecorded, just the series of selected presets) that would go along with the music the way you wanted them to. There are times where I give previews of MilkDrop to friends and if I could have a pretermined sequence of effects it would maximize the experience and impression.

Indeed, and the numeric keypad would be great to access the presets! :)

How about this... a preset config file, in which you could list several "preset sequences". Each preset sequence would include a hotkey, list of presets to be loaded in order, along with optional parameters for each one, such as duration and blend time.

Or another way would be to assign a hotkey to a folder, and include (in each folder of presets) a configuration file that simply specifies the order of presets and optional parameters.
