This is a couple of my presets, my very first. Please post a response, telling me what you think.

These are excellent for a beginner. I think you need to watch the framerate though, a lot of them seem to run very slowly. My favourite ones out of these are bellows, bizarre sandstorm and twirling snowflakes, all of which run very quickly. Try making a very simple mod of a preset that runs more quickly maybe, often changing the zoom dramatically can result in a very low framerate.
Have a look at some of rovastar's presets for examples of a "quick" preset, cause most of these run at about 13 - 15 fps on my machine, compared to the 30 I get on most others.
But a good start, I'll definitely be keeping those three I mentioned earlier, keep it up!

Great work esp for a first post. I like underwater high and tunnel best.
The slowness of the presets is manly to do with the Gamma adjust being high on some and video echo being on. Find the balance between speed and what look just right is difficult. ALso try the brighten and draken variables and adjust decay accordingly.
These presets are not very responsive to the beats often though. It is refreshing sometimes that is way I am keen on some them but you have a look at using the bass, bass_att, treb, etc variables more to make the presets stand out a little more.
You definatly have the basics to the authoring just some final tuning is needed.
I will later have a look at doing some mods of these. It might be an idea also doing some mods of other peoples presets so you get a better feel of how MilkDrop reacts - but I would stick to the presets 2K or samller as otherwise you will be entering confusing Unchained territory.
I welcome you to our preset community and hope you will post more soon. When any of us started out it was hard going but you have appear to be beyond the initial raw stage. But please don't give up so many people have posted 1 preset here and they are not heard from again so don't be a stranger.
If you need any help with the presets just post something to these forums and we will try to help.
Keep it up,
Rovastar

Also in the bellows preset the follwing appears in the per_pixel
per_pixel_1=sx=sx+0.17*sin(cot*11 + time*9);
Now as cot is not defined as anything it will eqaute to 0 therefore that line is really saying:
per_pixel_1=sx=sx+0.17*sin(0*11 + time*9);
per_pixel_1=sx=sx+0.17*sin(time*9);
Just pointing it out.

Great work for a start, a couple need drastic fixing, but what illusion and Rovastar said is good, so I will leave it at that. Happy Holidays, SM
