I am not sure what you're trying to do.. if you're trying to download new songs, which is ILLEGAL btw... ;) try:
http://www.musiccity.com and download Morpheus. Same as Kazaa, but you don't have to pay (I don't think you have to pay for Kazaa either... but well.. I don't know!).
With Morpheus (or Kazaa) you download MP3 files, which you play with Winamp.
Or... did you mean something else and is this just a stupid reply, making me really stupid?

Hi There hon, and welcome to the forums.
Winamp is just a music player. You cannot download music from winamp. You can play the music you download though :D
My suggestion is use winmx. http://www.winmx.com It is free to download and you will be able to download music there.
Good Luck, and if you have any other questions please feel free to ask!

CuteMX was the best until it was shut down  well now I think www.audiogalaxy.com and www.imesh.com are good substitutes, in addition to the other softwares mentioned above.. goodluck!:)

Direct Connect, Audiogalaxy or one of the various incarnations of Gnutella are the better music searching applications.

Turn on your computer.
Allow windows to load
Locate the "shortcut to winmx" icon on your desktop
Double click the Icon and you are away :blah:
