.maki are the compiled version of .m files. To read it, you need an uncompiler, but there is not uncompiler for maki, unlike you make one ;) And with reverse engineering i thing that you won't understand nothing :)

this web page has a program called RevTran which de-compiled propgrams written in OPL for the psion platform. OPL programs were compiled in a similar way to maki. i think that the same would be possible with maki. but with most devs leaving the source in, it would be useless.

yeah .m is just a renamed txt. you can open it with notepad. just click open with and then go and choose notepad if you leave the check box "always use this program" or whatevr it says youll be able to just double click and open them

It's a good idea to have a shortcut to Wordpad in your "SendTo" folder. Path to "SendTo" folder is C:\Windows\SendTo\. Then next time when you want to open a file with Wordpad, right click on the file click on the "Send To" menu and select Wordpad. I found this feature to be very useful. It's in all Win9x systems. You can drop Notepad shortcuts or any other program's shortcut there also.

after i read my own post after about 5 hours, it didn't make sense.
So here it is again.
Find WordPad.exe
Right click on Wordpad.exe and click on "Copy"
Then go to Start>Run> and type in C:\Windows\SendTo
A new window will open. Right click inside the new window and click on "Paste Shortcut".
Now anyfile that you want to open with Wordpad can be opened quickly.
Simply Right click on the file. Go to the Send To SubMenu. And select WordPad.

I used to do the same thing, but now I run XP. I don't think there's a sendto folder in xp. I've done searches for send*, sendto, send to, and send*to... Not exactly in that order though. But I come up w/ zilch. Is it handled in the registry in XP or what? Anyone know how to do that?

%userprofile%\sendto (C:\Documents and Settings\CURRENT_USER\sendto)
(That's where it is in 2K, I don't believe the removed it in XP)

As far as i know, XP has a "Open With" Submenu. So once you open a file with Wordpad. XP will always have "Wordpad" under the submenu for that file type.

Win98 doesn't have a "Open With" Submenu. Sure it says "Open With...." for unknown files. But in Windows ME and higher, "Open With" is a Menu under the right click menu. Windows 98 doesn't create a seperate menu for "Open With"
