Help with listing

I'm new at this and need some help. I'm trying to listed to shoutcast files on MusicMatch using 56k modem and my HP notebook n5190. Everything plays for a few seconds then I get silence, plays again, etc.,etc. Very frustrating! Any ideas for help?? Thank you.

You're trying to listen to shoutcast streams that broadcast at too high a bitrate for 56k. To be honest, you really can't listen to much worth listening to on a 56k modem.

Stick with streams of 32kbps or below. 48kbps you can do but it is pushing it.
