hehehe reminds me my first msvc5, extracted from really fucked up CDRs - looks like the burner messed them up, any attempt to access files in root directories was just hanging my system; i had to go to pure DOS, copy files from subdirectories using norton commander, then manually fix broken long file names. i made all my "old" (pre-mid-2001) software with that copy of msvc5.

As long as we are talking about old programming software, I remember a couple of years ago when I was still using QBASIC. I look back on it now and realize that QBASIC was a really crappy program, but what do you expect from something made in 1987? Then after QBASIC, I moved to Visual Basic 1.0 for dos. About a year later, I came to my sences and bought Visual Studio 6.
So, does anyone have VS.net yet? I am still stuck with VS 6. What is so great about it? Is it worth the upgrade?
