I would really love if AVS could load presets from an internet server...

instead of loading a preset from the AVS-dir send a request to a server, which
sends a random AVS-preset as answer.

The IP-Traffic should be moderate since the presets are pretty small (unless external files are required) ...

so you could see many different, new presets, without the need to install a hundred AVS-preset-packs ;-)

hey now.. thats a cool idea.

I've been thinking lately about the potential for doing an AVS style album, where the visualisations are integral to the style of music, like a video clip.

a preset broadcast as part of a shoutcast stream could allow many people to watch avs on the net like we do saturday morning video clip programs.

the largets preset i could find in my set was Whacko III's introduction at a whopping 25kb. whoopee.

ok, so there's have to be some consideration taken for presets that use non-standard APEs or support BMPs and AVIs. There's always a solution.

hmmm,
