I just got shoutcast last night and I've made some great progress. When I took my songs and put them into the playlist, I noticed that my internet speed is only 46kbs. That speed sucks. So I had to find a program that would change the bitrate from 128, 96, etc. to the speed I was needing to run all songs: 24. I found a program called GoldWave (http://www.goldwave.com) that would edit the songs and change rates. I tried it out and it works great. I now have full length songs under 1 MB!!!! That is great on my disk space. But then, when I added all the songs and commercials into my playlist, I noticed that when I was playing a commercial, the next song would start to play, which made a transition just like a professional did it. It sounds so cool!! Has that happened to anyone else?
Oh yeah, I forgot this part:
If you have a longer commercial, the next song will go like 3 or 4 seconds and then rewind and do it again. That is great so I don't have to worry about missing a part of the song!!!
