Hello. Im novice trying to learn how to broadcast a live radio station onto the net. I have downloaded winamp and done that side off the story but now it comes to setting up a server. I have a domain name and 20meg web space the remote server runs linux I run windows (I would like to run linux but thats another topic) so anyway is it possible to brodcast from my remote webspace or am I being silly getting it all back the front and theres really an easier way to do all this and im on completly the wrong track (normally the case when trying something for the first time! will get it in the end though!) If you can help I might even give you some space (if thats usefull)
Cheers thanks very much!!! :weird:

There's a big difference between Web hosting and stream hosting. Stream hosting requires much more bandwidth and for this reason and others there are a lot fewer stream hosts out there than Web hosts. Stream hosts typically offer Web hosting service as an add-on.
For stream hosting information, see this thread:
http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29470
And don't forget to consider the bandwidth you'll need to transmit the stream from its source (your computer running Winamp) to the remote stream host. If, for example, you want the bitrate of your stream to be higher than say 40k, you'll need something better than a dial-up connection.
