Hydrogen fuels are a pipe dream. See the future. (http://www.cnn.com/2002/TECH/science/03/04/science.fusion.reut/index.html)

Still 404'ing. I really hope a viable alternative is available soon. The hydrogen idea seems good.

There are no viable alternatives to petrol cars. This will continue to be the case until a different fuel is universally available.

This will require government subsidies to set up, as petrol companies won't set up a network of alternative fuels until a standard is agreed, and the demand is there.

There will not be sufficient demand until the fuel is available wherever.

Also the government are rolling in cash that they're getting from the motorist in so-called green taxes. If they cared about the environment the solution would already be here. They don't - it's just money grabbing.

Therefore nothing will happen until the arab states put up the price of oil so much that it starts to hurt the western economy, or we run out of oil sometime in the next hundred years.
