Here's the skin I'm working on right now.
Big thanks to Rhino trip who'll be taking care of the scripting for me as I'm a half zero in programming.:cry:
have a look and tell me what you think. I'm looking for a brand I could put instead of "sonic" on top left corner. (no sony please:))
enjoy looking :D

I can take a look at it, i've got two computers, and post the results (one 300 mhz, default runs fine, but most of the others takes some cpu. and a 1.2 ghz :))

Check the screenshot again, the buttons are even sexier now :D
The screen is still in A2 format, that's why there are so many repeats and stuff...:rolleyes:

Naamloos

It's way to dark, sorry :(

ah nevermind, its updated again (the screenshot) it was way darker when I posted that message. Really dark.

The Rhino
11th March 2002, 19:51
oh yeah, there are also plenty of ways using color controls to make it lighter

Naamloos
12th March 2002, 05:49
true, but the first preset is the most looked at ;)

Adil
12th March 2002, 08:26
Yo, color presets.. I almost forgot that feature !
on A2 I released two different screen colors, dark (screenshot here) and blue.
On winamp 3 we'll have infinite possibilities ! ;)
Rhino, will it be possible to make an animated CD coming out of the player when we push EJECT and going in again when a file is loaded?

I'm not Rhino, but yes that is ;) ;)

Adil
14th March 2002, 09:22
true, I dunno why it looks so dark in JPG format, it also looks flat here because you can't see some details. (especially on right side)

Adil
22nd March 2002, 12:15
I'm working on it, final version screenshot tomorrow...
got new screen layout an better buttons.
Rhino, are you ready?

The Rhino
22nd March 2002, 19:14
yeah lets roll i have all of spring break to do stuff :D

Adil
25th March 2002, 17:46
OK here's the almost final screenshot:

http://webserver.iam.net.ma/ait/pics/winamp3.jpg

We must start thinking HOw to adapt that playlist to winamp3 standards...
I was thinking about keeping it like it is now by adding a button that will switch between the tracks list and the plalists.
Is it posible?
other problems:
removing scroll bars and replace it only by the UP&Down buttons.
removing the "smouth scrolling"

Wow, this skin is lookin' sexy. I may have to rethink my whole "small skins" only motto.

Plague

do you have a script or something, changing the mono/stereo speaker pics?
or are you just showing the mono/stereo text and let the pic stay as it is on the shot all the time?

Need to know, coz I'm interested on how to make such a script for the Wa2 -> Wa3 converter...

edit
oh oh oh, I forgot...
DAMN good work, looks absolutly great!!! :up:

Adil
26th March 2002, 08:22
I dunno if it's possible to script that.. ask rhino or willfisher.
I think we have enough problems with the scripting for the playlist so I think we'll keep that speakers icon static.:)

The Rhino
26th March 2002, 13:28
actually that script should be easier than the playlist problem we have. the only way we will be able to keep that playlist the way it is is to have a programmer create a wac for that or we can try to get it as close as possible to what we want

Plague
26th March 2002, 13:33
yeah, that shouldn't be a problem to script, if you somehow convert the mono/stereo info from Gonzotek's script into a pic chooser...
Only thing is, I don't know how to do that... :D

-Plague

The Rhino
26th March 2002, 13:35
hey plague where can i get that it will make this go alot quicker

Adil
26th March 2002, 14:32
yeah, that woul be cool.
Maybe we could also add an icon in the screen to display what kind of file is playing..
just like the little HDD icon...

Plague
26th March 2002, 14:35
yeah, that shouldn't be a much bigger problem...
It would be cool! :up:

hey AvexTrax check your PM that way we can put out a working skin in the near future

Naamloos
26th March 2002, 15:20
couldn't you check the text what the bitrate shows?
and then do a hide/show ?

The Rhino
26th March 2002, 17:21
Naamloos im not following you, can you phrase it differently or explain a little more.

Plague
26th March 2002, 17:28
I think he means that you could check the bitrate part to figure out what kind of file it is...

I think.. :D

-Plague

The Rhino
26th March 2002, 17:33
you could do that but some of my mp3's have bitrates that fluctuate so i don't think thats the best way to go about it its probably best to check the last few letters of a song

example:Ja Rule - Always On Time.mp3

Plague
26th March 2002, 17:37
yeah that could do it too, but what I meant was figuring out the media type by wathich if it says: KBPS or something else...

Might be as hard to do as watching the end of the filenames as you suggested...

But I got another idea and that is, watching the id-tags, apparently that can be done somehow. There's a thread about it somewhere..

The Rhino

i just check the id3 tag editor and nowhere on it do i see an extension like .mp3 so maybe i will pm aus and ask him about it

Plague
26th March 2002, 19:11
mkey...

but I think it won't show as .mp3, but mpeg layer 3..
It was like that on wa2 anyways...

Well, I don't know, I'm just guessing :)

-Plague

The Rhino
26th March 2002, 19:15
well hopefully aus our canadian administrator knows the answer.
btw i have been guessing on this too

The Rhino
26th March 2002, 22:02
well he has read it but where is the reply (me crys :cry: because aus is being mean)

Naamloos
27th March 2002, 06:10
Lol, the rhino thats what I meant (checking the what the bitrate script says)

I know, im not to good at my english :(

Adil
27th March 2002, 12:32
Ok, Rhino started the scripting.
This thread will now die.
We'll start a new one as soon as we have the first working Version.

The Rhino

well i have been workin on xml and doing a little scripting but i want to know what you all think of the menu (colors screwed up due to image formatting)
C:\Documents and Settings\Joseph M. Limpert\My Documents\My Pictures\menu.png
btw where the heck can i change the title at the top of the men(color)

Plague
27th March 2002, 16:51
pic doesn't show...

anyway, to change the color you wanted:
studio-elements.xml

<!-- Buttons -->
<color id="studio.button.text" value="6,105,178"/> <!-- Buttons text color -->
<color id="studio.button.hiliteText" value="6,105,178"/> <!-- Buttons hilite text color, used by tab windows-->
<color id="studio.button.dimmedText" value="6,105,178"/> <!-- this is actually studio.popup.dimmedtext... -->

<!-- Popup menus -->
<color id="studio.popup.text" value="255,255,255"/> <!-- Menu items text color -->
<color id="studio.popup.hiliteText" value="6,105,178"/> <!-- Hilited item text color -->
<color id="studio.popup.dimmedText" value="4,68,118"/> <!--what dos this do now??... -->

somehow those two seem to have change place or something, but edit studio.button.dimmedText for the menu color change.

-Plague

The Rhino
27th March 2002, 17:22
i would have never thought of changing that to change the menu title but it worked. thanks
