I've been playing with the scripts and came up with an idea that may be interesting... a kind of sliding puzzle game built into the player skin.
Prototype attached.
Is it worth continuing this idea through to a finished skin, or is it just an exercise in skinning? You tell me...

Awesome stuff. Very cool idea, just that you should have mentioned that desktopalpha has to be on to see the main window.
/me waits for what else you have planned.

sorry about the desktop alpha - had a semi-translucent background in there for testing (you can't see it under the tiles, but it's there)...

Very creative idea. I'm not sure how functional it will be, but it's so neat, I think I'd use it even if that's all it did. Can't wait to see the finished product!

Vica: It's there.
For everyone wondering what's up with this skin:
This is a great example of MAKI scripting controlling the interface. The pieces all snap to the nearest positions, you can move the images in two directions, and the images even wrap around as you move them.
You have to try it out to really understand how cool it is.
Good work, Wilba!

Yes, I didn't include the source, partly 'cos I just wanted feedback on the IDEA, not to show off some rather inelegant scripting to "n00bs".
So here it is... in all its butt-ugliness...
Please note: this is a work in progress - it ain't pretty, it's completely unfactorized and heavy on the "if"s... but it's sorta cute in how it does what it does.
BTW, I'm a "n00b" myself, but I cut code for a living, so this scripting stuff is like a box of Lego for me... lots of fun hehehe
My humblest apologies to those who wanted to see source sooner - I'm surprised anyone wanted to...

for Naamloos:
if Futurama doesn't fit your needs, simply change the tiles.jpg file in the \gfx dir.
the file must be 320*320 px
for example check this:

i was working on my skin when i had this idea.
this skin could better be a script like asteroids, useful to waste some spare time.
you should use "System.getTimeOfDay()" funct to randomise the position of the blocks, and add an option to choose among different images.
that would be really great
really great!!
