Ah hi,

well I think it is a bug. It´s up to you guys to verify this.
Background: Milkdrop crashed after some minutes my computer. The first crash and reboot in 3 months, any my first Milkdrop crash at all :( After reboot it crashed three more times.
To the point:
Every preset runs faster on my computer than 20 fps. Even Unchaineds biggest/most complex preset is faster. So no prob until now.
I watched some new presets with Motion Vectors yesterday. If you switch from one preset to another, my computer nearly stops. The transition takes at least 6 secondes (instead of 1) at 2FPS, I guess!! Sometimes it will even crash hard.

Has anyone of you discovered similar problems?
Here to verify:
Take these three presets in a single folder.
illusion + rovastar - crossover clouds
illusion + rovastar - snowflake (bmel mod)
Rovastar - Celestial Puddle (Living Jelly mix)

Switch crossover clouds and snowflake. Everything perfekt. But if you switch from celestial puddle to the others, the above described effect happens. So Celestial Puddle is somehow broken on my system.

This is not the only preset which does that. Some of the new MV presets crashed, but I do not know anymore which one.

My system:
Athlon 700
192 MB SDR
Kyro II (latest drivers)
SBLive
W2k (all patches)

I think your texture size has to be at least 512x512...

Hope someone will understand this...

I have no problems with thhat scenerio.

It does slow down from Celestial puddle to the others but that is because it is going from a load of MV's to only a couple.

It slows down to about half the speeed on my machine during the transition. Puddle is one of the quickest presest as there is not much complex 3d stuff going off.

What are your transition settings?

My transition settings are set to 1 second. But that is not important. Even when I set my transition to 6 seconds, it will also slow down.
I think the drivers for my video card are causing the slow down..

Thx anyway.
