I'm looking for a good freeware program or a crackable version of shareware that will produce good wav files from mp3's. Anyone got one for me?

instead of making a new thread,i`ll just post a few of my questions here.

1. how can i make winamp minimize or something like that while i have a fullscreen avs preset on? so that winamp doesnt flash through.

2. how can a rip a cd without track separation with cdex (or any other program)?

How about CDex (http://www.cdex.n3.net) - does all of the above, and it's free.

I think your best bet (actually, only bet) is to just put Winamp into windowshade mode... but that's not really minimizing it, so I don't have a good answer for you.

Or you could just disable all the windows so that all that's left on the screen is the AVS window and the systray icon. :)

Simple:
Go to downloads.com
search for "mp3 converter" or "mp3 to wav converter"
it will come up with a list of programs and click on a free one - of course!

The best all round program is nero burning rom. you can download the trial ware from www.nero.com. There are several cracks available. if you cannot obtain then email me and I will mail you a program which basically generates the codes depending on your drive.
Nero has a full wave editor ,encoder ,decoder and burning facilities.

you need a crack for Nero?? Ive got it and other people have downloaded it but i never knew you needed a crack! Do you have to pay for it if you download it without a crack?:confused:

When you download Nero from the website it is trial ware and allows you 30 days. However on AltaVista. Box there are plenty of cracks for the latest version 5.5.7.8. you can also download the mp3 and mp3 pro plug-in from AltaVista. You can download Nero 5.5.7.8 form nero.com. Believe me it does everything. And is simple to use. The crack is actually a program which generates keys.

Why exactly would anyone want to convert mp3 to wav? i converted a average length mp3 to .wav and the same quality in wav was 44mb! Whats the point in doing it??

Both are freeware, and don't need to be cracked.

You can also convert from mp3 to wav using winamp itself - instructions here.. (http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=64985)

If you are donverting to wav solely for the purposes of creating audio CD's, then it might be a better idea to download and install better burning software, such as Nero (http://www.nero.com). This allows you to create audio CD's directly from mp3, without first having to convert to wav.

It shouldn't flash through. Do as sawg says and go to your videocard manufacturers homepage and download the latest drivers for your video card.

Download and install CDex. Go to convert -> Extract to partial mpeg...
