i've recently been a bit of a nonse and upgraded to Win XP (off a mate). It's all very nice accept when i was using win Me i ripped a few tracks with licesnce managment on, (it was defalut and i didn't realise) and now i can't play those songs. Does anyone know if i can import the old liscecnce or if it's hidden somewhere on my comp, or if there is some sort of way of cracking the license.

cheers for any help

firstly...you shouldn't use wma files....

mp3 and ogg are far superior....and are free(no licence crap)

okay the only way to bring them back...is if you have kept your user profiles from the old installation of windows...

if you lost them...their is no way of getting the files back...you'll have to re-encode everything.....

this is microsoft's crappy protection

If its' only a few then trust me, you are better off ripping the files again to mp3. Download CDex (http://cdex.n3.net), it'll take you ten minutes....

yeah, cd's and cd's of them, that i no longer have. While i was in my first year at uni, i ripped i dunno 12 CD's off mates i don't see that much anymore before i realised that i had been a fool! and also do any of u know a bit of CD writing software that u can change the levels and sort of mix the beginning and end of tracks together, not in time necesarrily but a little bit of crossfade can sound cool depending on the songs.
