to see the infamous 3dfx problem solved some day ? I'm running Windows XP with a Voodoo 3 and Milkdrop, of course, refuses to run. I read somewhere in this forum that the problem could be software-related, therefore is there a chance that we may see a fix someday ? If not, I'll simply get rid of Milkdrop. Thanks for any info :)

To be honest seer it seems unlikely it will be fixed by Ryan. But….

From what I can see about it is a driver issue. And there are no official drivers out there for Voodoo3 and XP.

All Ryan's help is.

d. 3DFX VOODOO-3 AND VOODOO 5500 ON WINDOWS 2000:
if you've updated your video drivers for this card (from
nVidia.com), MilkDrop probably WON'T run. Nuke these drivers
and **reinstall the ones that came with win2k.**

Which does not help XP people.:( Hassle www.voodoofiles.com people.

Like (pick a couple of new ones at random)

last update 3 March 2002
or

Maybe some of these new ones will work...

These are the people that make the individual drivers that are posted on voodoofiles.

Now I would hassle them myself but I do not have a Voodoo card so there is no point.

Will you take up this challenge to make Voodoo users the ability to use MilkDrop. And be the test subject for these weird experiments and help the Winamp community. I know it is role reversal as you will normally be on the other end of that.:)

I will give assistance where I can and Ryan probably will too if Nullsoft aren't working him too hard.:)

Thanks for the reply.
This is pretty much what I thought.
As you can imagine, I don't feel like trying dozens of various third-party (and often unreliable) drivers just to have one particular plug-in work. The risk of messing up my entire computer is not worth it. It's too bad but I'll just use other plug-ins.

Thanks for the assistance, though :)

 Seer I am disappointed in you. :(

:) All drivers for your old card are third party. :)

Oh well I will let you know if there is any change in this. But with no-one willing to try out new drivers then I don't see it getting fixed.

:) I remember.:)

I have done a little research and there may be a solution.

Some 3dfx forums (look the same a WA's) from one of the link I gave you.

This works a treat it seems.

Want to try that driver for me mate.

I have posted up there anyway and will hopefully get some update.
