View Full Version : Retrieve highlighted song in playlist editor

I'm writing my first plugin for Winamp. I'm wondering how I can retrieve the file name for an entry in the playlist that I right-click. I've searched the forums/Internet with no luck. Thanks for any help!

From the API:
Retrieves (and returns a pointer in 'ret') a string that contains the filename of a playlist entry (indexed by 'data'). Returns NULL if error, or if 'data' is out of range.
Returns the position in the current playlist, in tracks (requires Winamp 2.05+).
That gets file name of specified file, and the second gets the current file. I don't think you can get the currently highlighted file position, unless it happens to be the one that's playing.
i think position is marked in white text, the highlight is not neccessarily the current list position. The only way I see you can do this is by capturing the playlist window's messages.

This post a bit older, but i've the same problem. Is it possible to get the highlighted Entry (not the one which is actually playing)?
ive found something about moving the Highlight down:
So, is there another command which returns the current highlight?

I would like to highlight the fact that several playlist entries can be selected in the same time...
i haven't seen a way to select or deselect playlist entries in the sdk...
what do you want to do noparity ?
(a last minute idea: DrO's gen_jumpex adds a playlist menu item which allows to enqueue the selected entries, so i guess he manages to get these entries in a way or another.)
