i am new and not sure

i have used winamp before but never tired making my own. but now i am trying and i just downloaded winamp again(and hope this iw winamp3 that i keep seeing on the different help pages). but i have no clue where to start on making my skin. so could someone plz give a hint or a direction to follow. thanks

1st of all you've got to have a idea of how it more o less should look.
2nd you fire up your graphical proggie and make the layout.
and then you pick up a big bowl, throw in the PNG's and XML, stirr it a bit, and voila; :D

Just start with pictures, (use layers, lots of layers) after that you can crop the pictures and use xml to place the buttons and so on.
