Greetings....
Firstly, thank you SHOUTCAST - WINAMP
And many kudos to my fellow broadcasters.
As a former professional rock announcer , its fun to run your own station.
I had 2 questions that I couldnt find on the site.
1. How do you move up from a JR member. ?
2. How can I find my listing ?
Thx!

You can find your listing by entering some text unique
to your station name in the search field, or you can go
to the genre's you have listed your station under, and
look down the list.
That I know, but the other question is very a curious
mystery. (http://synerdata.com)

Perhaps seeing as your in King Pin Mode : -)
With my current set up
AMD 1.4 Ghz - 575 Megs RAMS - Cable Internet - PCI Sound Card
Etc...
What would a good KBPS rate to start with ? Im now live with 56
Also I'd like to ADD A URL to my SHOUTCAST listing...currently its my IP.
I know I made an error...
Thx Tom !

Your bitrate will depend on how many listeners you want to support and who you want to be able to listen. If you want those of 56k to listen then I would suggest 24 kbps, 22 kHz, Mono. Also you want to make it so you can still support a decent sized audience. To do this run a speed test at: http://www.dslreports.com/stest
Get your UPLOAD bandwidth and then use that here: http://www.casterclub.com/bw_calc.php?universal=Available%20Bandwidth
to determine the number of listeners you can support at various bitrates.
As far as getting you webpage in the SHOUTcast listing all you need to do is specify the site in the DSP (Output tab > Yellowpages > URL).
Also do you need that other thread anymore, I think I answered it all here?
