We really need a new layout for the skin love ring hp (http://www.skinlovering.f4d.de/), so here's the official contest, you're all invited to join. The prize is fame and glory in capital letters :)

















What about a deadline till the end of August? That should be enough time for everyone, plus my exams will be finally over until then. (yay!)

















Here are the guidelines (hope i haven't forgotten anything):








- design a new layout, including pages for home, join, login (i'm thinking of adding a master login, too) and info








- the forms have to fit in!








- design a new logo, big and small version, like Kuki's (http://home.arcor.de/883design/skinlove.gif) and mine (http://home.arcor.de/nini_ta/skin_love_ring/skinlovering_logo.gif)

PS To make it fairer it would be better to have a group of (maybe 3 ) judges, so if you would like to play reviewer and do not take part in the contest, post here :)

I probably would enter, but I pretty much suck at web design, and I'm kinda busy with my own site and trying to learn JavaScript...but I don't think I could judge either...that's to much resposibility for me;)

I think there's something missing on the bottom. You have green on the left, on the right and on the top. You need "something" on the bottom imho. Not necessarily a greenish box, though.

so are we doin a contest or a collab? in my opinion, a colab would be hard to do, at least for the graphics. the reason for this is when someone draws up a design that everyone likes, only that person is capable of recreating the effects. if you had one person to the header and another do the buttons and another do the rest, you'd get a site that just doesnt look like it fits together right. so i say contest!

I'll help with the judging. I'm still trying to learn html (with lots of help from gsx :D ), and i might be a bit busy over the next month or so.

I think 2 months is plenty of time. However, i think someone should post a reminder once a week or something so no-one forgets.

As for the design a logo part, could there be a page included in the webring site for everyones logo they design??

Maybe it'd be even better if the winamp logo was slightly altered to make it more cartoonish like the flaming heart? The white square has been altered a bit, but the lightning bolt still looks pretty much the same - it has much thinner and more 'complicated' lines than the rest of the picture.

That'll be it. ;) For the record I think your logo would be better if it wasn't done in crayon.

As for me I intend to have a go at this and I have a few logo ideas already. I'll get there sometime by the end of August but it won't be much before then by the looks of things! :)

The reason for that was that I had nothing in particular to say about your logo - I was just quickly passing through this thread anyway. Dude883's logo caught my eye more, because yours is just letters and a ring. But ok, I'll comment on it, if you want:
-It's not bad, but:
-I don't like the "Skin Love" font for some reason - I think maybe it's because it's not very 'strong' looking, but not very graceful either.
-The "web ring" font is a bit boring.
-The ring made out of web is pretty cool - but perhaps it would be better if the web was more prominent - for example if the ring was wider. :)
