Whats the commmand to copy a folder from the CD ROM to the hard drive? For instance, I need to copy D:\i386 to C:\

doesn't that work?
btw I haven't used a windows machine in ages

I don't really remember, but I think if you want to copy everything including sub folders (if there are any), use xcopy. "xcopy d:\i386 c:". regular copy will work if it is just one folder with no sub folders.

I'm not sure if xcopy is installed on all dos systems though, I mean, I think you need download that somewhere first (well, back in the good ol' MS-DOS days, you'd connect to a BBS with your 2400bps modem and spend a loong time to download those files.. god, that was so cool! And you could mail eachother and stuff.. wow, that stuff was awesome. Download warez... :) Everything! Only it'd take FOREVER! (Back in those days, "cool games" were on like.. 4 or 5 1.44mb disks.. well.. so that'd be around 7mb.. try downloading that with 2400bps! AWESOME to see the little bar go by... these days, it's just not as fun downloading anymore, you don't have time to do other stuff!).. Anyways... that was back to the past.

I remember actually, that before I knew about xcopying, I've been arj-ing the directory (because I did know how to do subdirectories with arj) and then extract that again at the location where I want.. ooh, the good ol' ARJ days when you'd forget 1 switch and you'd get all the files in 1 huge directory, instead of nicely seperated over the directories... ooh.. which especially sucks when you arj'd them straight to disk, instead of on your harddrive first. Awesome days... :)

well ive been trying to install windows xp on my sisters computer. but i am having problems... i deleted partitions, recreated them, and formated.... then i ran the windows xp setup off the cd and it froze. so im trying different methods. give me your input. thanks
