ok, another stupid, probably very obvious question about computers from your friendly, neighbourhood computer illiterate (who's seen spider-man a few times too many)

how would i go about transferring fonts from one computer to another?
i've got a bunch on my old computer that i really like, bu ti have no idea how they got on their,
and i searched for them on google, and are all available only for money

could it really be so simple as to copy them from one computer to another, or am i missing something?

c:\windows\fonts

just copy everything in there to floppies and then copy them over to that folder on the other system.

Font Freak (http://www.fontfreak.com/) is an excellent source of freeware / shareware fonts, most of them are pretty good. They're all zip files, just unzip them to C:/Windows/Fonts or whatever.

You don't have to pay for good fonts, there's plenty of good, free legal ones :)

In regards to your copying problem - sometimes Windows says you can't copy them if you're using them in another open program, make sure everything is closed before you try and copy them, it should work eventually....

You could always go into DOS and copy them.

if they're on your floppy disk, all on one spot, do this in dos:

copy a:\dir\*.* c:\windows\fonts\

I dont know much about DOS, but that should take all the files in the a: dir (if they're not in a dir, then use a:\*.*) and copy them to c:\windows\fonts\

You could also use the xcopy command.
