Rhino, I just had a talk with Will, this skin will require some coding that is still not possible on rc2 (same problem as for noir's pl) so I'm gonna keep improving the design till a new build with what need comes out.

the screen shot you see on top of this page is the result of (only)an afternoon of work, I still didn't make the real display for neoJB, I just took something that looks good (boom's screen) and adapted it for it in two minutes.
NOW, the final display of neoJB will be the most original one you can think of. If everything I'm planning happens, you'll have eq, playlist and other goodies INSIDE that little area, and I promise it will be usable. (a bit like in a car stereo)

now mister skins reviewer, maybe you don't like boom nor neoJB, that can happen in this unfair world, but the fact is you never tried any of them. I will stop here.

A little boom news flash: a new version is ready for testing, with sexy thinger, horny eq and every other parts skinned.:D

There have been far too many posts backstage today (count - 12 so far) regarding the actions and attitudes of the posters in this thread. The next one will be along the lines of "I banned xxxx for three days.

Nemessis, remove that signature link as soon as possible.

Adil, Rhino, Neko, the pissing contest stops. No more posts pleding each others case, no more flames, nothing. Either the posts are on topic, or they get removed and the thread is locked.

If the flaming continues, the guilty party will be banned for three days, without recourse. And this is regardless of who has the biggest post count.

I'm sorry that it comes down to this, but there is no other choice. The next choice is up to you.

I dont know when this was posted but mr jones already told Adil, Neko, and I to stop flaming an we are trying but there are alot of people trying to bring it back up. Adil, Neko and I havent flamed each other for over a week at least so i would appreciate everyone to stop targeting us for any flaming that goes on. Yes we have been flaming on the side at those that bring this feud back up and now we have stopped that since mr jones letter to us. We understand that these forums are not for flaming so we are changing but can you make sure you or mr jones have a talk with other guilty parties.

nice adil, though i still think the red's a little iffy, but much imporvement on the mody of the skin, it doesnt look so genereated now, but i suggest maybe a light texture to the skin, or even wallnut segments, or glowing bars, such as current, and classic JB's have.

thats coo, its almost like a futuristic jukebox now, where the side opening to show the record going in now turns into the side opening to show songs, not bad not bad, i like, methinks the skin look 10x better in silver and it hink it looks to perfect if that makes any sense (ahh i sound liek bh now :mad: ) you shouldgive it just a tiny bit of texture, not to much, but a tiny tiny bit :)

Is it wise to have this skin designed to that the majority of its area does not incorprate any features?

I mean, it's a really big skin, but does it need to be? I think that aesthetics are reduced due to the large amount of simple shades of grey.

And you may want to redo the black slits on the edges of the skin, I don't think that they are properly smoothed. I'm guessing they should also be curved, unless the edges are flat (which they don't appear to be with the lighting).

I'm not really a gfx specialist, but I have some suggestions on this skin. Actually I don't really like it because some different reasons:

1) The play-stop-pause-ffw-rwd-... buttons : The image should be in the middle of those buttons, so or you make the buttons smaller, or those pictures bigger, but now, well these buttons just don't look professional. Maybe move the up-down button in the middle up a bit too.

2) I agree that the light-bevel is not quite right for the whole skin

3) Where is the playlist? (Not specially to you Adil, but this is for many skins screenshots I see around here, nobody cares much about the playlist)

4) I don't like the overall overview, but I guess this might change with how you fill in the empty parts, and if I'm able to change that pink display color :)

You might be right on the power button...

The CD window has that shape because there is a bubbled (hope that word exists:)) glass behind it.

It's all part of the skin's style.. It's too easy to make a grey shape and add buttons to it, the hard job is to make something that has personality. the difference between the cd window and the neojb door (wich opens up to show hidden buttons) gives a certain style to the skin.

neoJB builds a list from what you have loaded in the playlist and gives a number to each song.
after you found your song in the list you just type its number using the jukebox keypad (or the computer keyboard) to play it.

In the remote, the numbers and the play controls share the same buttons to save space.

So far I got only bad experiences with 3d software, some of them are easy to use but do absolutly nothing amazing, others are a hell to use so I can't do anything amazing with them either :rolleyes:
Maybe I will ask a very good friend of mine who's a pro on 3dsmax to make some 3d models of neoJB for the animations ;)

very nice Adil, i am interested on how you did the lcd, this kind of pin matrix is exactly what i was wondering for my next skin.

could you please explain us how you did that?

It was a pain in the ass to simulate that led texture...
the logical way would be to let one pixel distance between each led, but it looks incredibly BAD since the resolution of the display would be VERY poor, I had to make less than one pixel distance between each led ! (impossible.. huh)

I created a layer mask with 3 transparent pixels for one opaque pixel... it gives the illusion that leds are separated by a distance smaller than a pixel.

zoom in the display and you will understand how it works.. if u still don't get the trick, wait for the skin to be released :)

The higlight on the display-glass looks like a smudge made by somebody who just used vasaline.

The bevels the ca and ok buttons are in look square instead of round.

A remote like this would kill your hand. Put your hand in front of the screen, like you're holding the remote, with the bottom of your thumb resting in that place on the bottom right. Now try to press the JB, C or S button. Ouch..

Nah seriously, it's a very good looking skin. Just pointing out a few flaws that came to my attention and I'd change if the skin was mine. But if I'm the only one bothered by them, or if it's only my thumb that's not flexible enough, then forget about them.

all you need to do to add a certain song to a certain number is;

1. play song
2. type the 3 digit number you want to add the song to
3. click the lil button with the menu (as in the pic)
4. select "add song to current number"

5. the number u typed in should reset to 000
6. if so... SUCSESSS

to replay the song..
1. type the number of the song u wanna play
2. hit ok

POINT OF NOTICE
if u are going to use the presets.. wen u use them.. MAKE AND SELECT A NEW PLAYLIST... or, ur current playlist will be emptied out and only show ur last played preset...
