I've made my very first skin to winamp 3... As I'm developing it I had it in a subfolder in the Skins/-folder of WinAmp3. And I thought to myself that I could just zip the folder and rename it to .wsz in order to use it as a zipped skin in winamp.. But it doesn't work!!

Do you have to zip it in any special way or somthing like that!?

Thanx! :)

don't rename it to wsz, keep it as a zip or rename it to .wal

also, don't make the zip look like this:
skin.zip
skin dir
skin subdirs

it has to look like this
skin.zip
skin subdirs

did that make sense?

In other words, don't put a skin folder in the skin zip, right? The wal acts as a folder. (If I understood)

Yes, that made sense! And that did the trick!!

Thank you lakitu42 and Plague :)

But just out of curiosity - what's the thing with .wsz and .wal?
What's the differences between them?

wsz = Winamp Skin Zip
wal = Winamp Abstraction Layer

the only difference really is the name..
they are both renamed zip's.
But I think that essentially they needed a new name for the Wa3 skin zips coz otherwise it could cause confusion..
