filename playing track

Ok, I didn't find anything in de API so I'm probably thinking way too positive to even ask this question:

Is there a simple way to get the filename of the currently playing track???

Yeah, I do know I can retrieve it via the playlist. But since a playlist can changed without changing the currently playing track this can couse mayor problems. (READ: my plugin crashes and I don't like the solution I'm writing now...)

Yeah i'd like to know the same thing also. I'm a complete newbie to working with winamp, but not VB. I can get a pointer to the filename in the playlist, but not the actual filename, can anybody help us?

if the playlist changes, the current index should always reference the current song, the only exception is if the playlist is cleared
