I would like to locate all MK presets in the same directory under winamp\plugins but for some reason, whenever I download new presets, the new presets get placed in different directories from where the originals are found. Would it be ok to combine all presets into the same directory or will this cause MK to scrog?

Thanks,
Tony

It places them in a different dir becuase (im assuing your download rovastars presets off his site www.milkdrop.co.uk) they install to C:\program files\winamp\milkdrop\allpresets i think.. You might want to change the install dir or move them after install.

Rovastar or Illusion can explain this better than me since Im not goo at explaining stuff.

I used to have Winamp installed elsewhere too, but some plugins don't bother to check where Winamp is actually installed. So, I ended up reinstalling Winamp to where most install files expect it to be, that is, C:/Program Files/Winamp.

This is probably easier than having to worry about changing the installation for all the extra plugins or anything else you install.

I'm pretty sure Rovastar's preset installation files do actually check where Winamp is installed (if it's not in the Program Files folder), but, the presets automatically get put in an "All Presets" sub-folder within that directory. You can change the directory if you don't want that to happen, or, as idiot24-7 said, just move them manually later on.
