winamp 2.8 much better
 

in older versions you could double click on the track and file info would pop up. In winamp 3 you have to right click and click view file info. thats it. But it has id tag problems for example I use ogg vorbis files 3.0 quality settings (112 kbits) and the file tags are not complete as they were with winamp 2.8. plus when I try to change anything and save it all gets deleted. I think 2.8 it much better especially since I dont need 3 and 2.8 works much better. 3 is cool since it can play continuous but I have a great plugin that allows you too do continous play by sqaresoft. for 2.8 that is Later

you hear that winamp.......? no one likes the version 3 because it has way too many problems, are you trying to shut your vendor down or something because no one wants your software anymore, i've only downloaded the software 3 times because i thought it installed wrong or something, but it's just winamp3.......the only good thing about winamp3 is the skin mobility, but the fact that it crashes makes it annoying of a program, the bad far outweighs the good in this new release, hopefully they'll smarten up and release all bug fixes in the next release, and real soon......otherwise, you lost a loyal user for good......and i bet more will follow

WHY DO YOU PEOPLE EXPECT A PERFECT PIECE OF SOFTWARE?!?!?!?!?! I suppose you could write a perfect piece of incredibly complicated software, release it, and everybody would be happy. Software is a work in progress, THATS WHY THERE ARE VERSION NUMBERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The empoyees of Nullsoft have spent thousands upon thousands of man hours building Winamp3 from the ground up and they have done a pretty damn good job of it to. Instead of looking at all that is wrong with Winamp3 look at all that is right.

Wow, that's a bold statement from someone lacking any sort of clue. What about the whole new Wasabi component system? Not that you would know anything about that...

So since the FIRST official release of this highly complex application has a few bugs (in comparison to the amount of code that actually went into Winamp3, there are only a "few" bugs), you will never use it again? Not even 6 months down the road, when it is relatively bug-free? Well, that makes sense to me! (No sarcasm, I swear!)

well memorysHticky consider this winamp 2 has been out for probly 3- 5 years now so its almost perfect compare that to Winamp 3 which is been barely out for for a month plus its the first officaial version of winamp 3 so what you want is a product that first comes out on the market to be perfect. but the problem in the computer world is the first version of any peace of software is far from being good and very far away from being perfect so even i admitt that winamp 2 is still better than Winamp 3 for now so stop bitching

this forum is for reporting bugs, not for arguing which winamp is worse, or for complaining about things we all know about. if you want more features, go bash the wishlist forum instead.
indeed, 3.0 is far from complete ($#@! deadline), but it has much more potential due to new architecture; it just requires more time for developers (that includes us and third-party developers) to use the new possibilities. some components bundled with 3.0 are outdated to hell already.
