actually there's an entire
slew of movies that "snoochie boochies" refers to. there's the movie clerks, the movie mallrats, the movie chasing amy, the movie dogma, the movie jay and silent bob strike back, the comic books for clerks, jay and silent bob, bluntman and chronic, mallrats, chasing amy, and others, the cartoon clerks (of which bear in my sig is a castmember), and a bit more. check out viewaskew.com for more information.
there's lots of appeal to these movies: first off the dialogue (with the exception of jay, who DOES talk like an idiot, but on purpose) is intelligent and witty. second off, the topics covered are true but in very off ways. also, the movies have a dark-comedy edge to them. also, for residents of new jersey, there's also the added bonus that all of these films, comic books, and the cartoon all take place, at least in part, in parts of new jersey, and the characters' behaviors (excluding jay and silent bob, please) do somewhat reflect the behaviors and foibles of new jersey residents. there's lots of new jersey inside jokes in all this, and the cross references between the movies are so deep that you could watch all the movies five or six times and not get all of them. there's so much more, but i don't want to go into a rant right now...
[edit] also, almost every long time resident of central jersey has some connection to these films. for instance, my roommate used to be drinking buddies with one of the recurring actors. kevin smith's movies are intelligent and dumb at the same time. there's no beating them (yes, i guess you COULD say some people are obsessed) [/edit]
