converting is not available in this version

From what i've heard Nullsoft had a deadline to meet and was prefered to release a fairly usable basic winamp than a full-of-features, full-of-bugs one. Hope that helps

Well, there are several ways to do it besides the plugin within Winamp as well.

If you try and get a hold of a different burner program. Nero, for example - lets you just pull your mp3s over in the nero window, and automatically converts the files for you - ready for burn onto CD.

you can test out the official diskwriter for winamp3 if you like

http://www.winamp.com/components3/de...onentId=119517

or download CDEX

http://www.cdex.n3.net

its has the same decoders as winamp only its easier to use
it also doubles as a really great cd ripper/mp3 encoder

in cdex

press F12 and browse to your files

click convert

btw you can have winamp 2 and winamp3 on the same computer running at the same time also (provided they are installed to different folders)
