I know that the aol im 5.0 beta is out now, I was wondering if there is the MY IM that will work with that or some kind of file close to that. THanks alot.

I'm still happily running my ad-free version of AIM 4.7. :) Haven't seen the need to update...

Get Trillian...it's much better than that crappy excuse for a program that AOL gives you...maybe I shouldn't being saying this here...nevermind...don't go to the web page I'm about to give you.

Trillian is NOT (may I repeat NOT) ass. And for your future reference, Trillian is funtion over form. It functions quite well and is not awkward to use...if you don't have a crappy skin.

Nem: Thats why its an INSTANT MESSAGING PROGRAM, and not a CHAT PROGRAM. The developers threw in IRC because someone asked for it. I've used Trillian ever since v6.x, and have loved it ever since.

ok i asked a question that I wanted to be answered yet nobody seems to want to answer that question they want to sit here and bash everybody else and the IM program they use. if I wanted that to happen I would have called it: LETS BASH EACH OTHERS IM SOFTWARE!!!!

Yeah, Trillian is ass. I use it @ work, but only because i can dodge the security and permission issues with or coporate server. Something about not allowing chat programs..... I missed the memo. Anyways, it is awkward and not very pretty.

i use aim just because its what im used to and there are more people on it. i dont care what you say about it, it wont really change it.

I use a skin called "Dark Bevel." You can get it at Trillian's site. You can reduce the size of the buddy window much smaller than the default skin and the colors are nice, if you like dark skins.

Since you script mIRC is still better for your IRCing ways.

trillian users can't skin. trust me on this. It seems to be totally against their nature. Go to the bottom of the wa2 shit-pile of skins, take away the picture of britney spears (or steve gediakian - see link in my sig) and beat it with a hammer and you may well have an above average trillian skin.

The default skin isn't a bad skin, and another good skin is ChosenOS. And I wouldn't know about the IRC client because I never use it, I hate chat rooms, too many people talking at once.

That on the other hand is true. I don't know what it is about them, but they just don't have any talent.

Trillian is one of those programs.

er, Trillian is best. Just don't expect any decent skins - the default one's pretty ok though.
