do i need all of these ?

well i am having this problem with my pc at the mo... running win2k SP3 with laytest updates as of yesturday...

Quote:

well at the mo im having pretty bad problems with the slowness of I.E. i know all the other options availoable (netscape etc) but im reluctant to go down that rout as ive been there b4 and got fed up.
anyways it seems everytime i log onto a website, it decides not to download all the images, infact usually its just one but can be more, but instead of a red x it gets say a quater of the way down the image and stops, it then dispolays "Done." in the status bar. if i refresh it sometimes works, but usually it doesnt.

its been happning for a while, i updated win 2k to service pack 3 to see if it woiuld help, but no joy. also got the i.e. security updates etc still no joy.

the strange thing is that i still get 4.55 k/s on downloads which is quite good for a 56k.

also msn messanger keeps logging in and out while downloading but im guessing this is a bandwidth probelm

will stress that the image thing happens irrispective of weather im downloading or not.

so anyone have anyideas, please no netscape or other alternative software as i cant be arsed...?
do i really need all these proccesses could one of these have something to do with what is happning ?

it doesn't sound like a memory issue by the sounds of whats happening

it will probably get resolved when the new IE comes out, whenever that happens. It sounds as if there is something wrong with yours

m,aybe, you could try going to www.downloads.com and grabbing a copy of IE 6 and downloading it all again.

you wont be able to get it off the microsoft site as they will only let you download things that arn't installed on your pc

well at least i think thats the case

anyway, hope this helps
