sp1 strangeness..
 

After installing sp1 and checking to see if it has any new built in drivers for my hardware this is what happened (see screenshot).

My hard drives and cdrw are definatey not scsi, my second cdrom has dissapeared, and mysteriously i now have a raid/scsi controller. :igor:

My cdrw works fine as a cdrom drive, but i cant burn anything with it, so im gonna have to backup to hard drive instead and reinstall xp again. Im not blaming ms for this, i have been messing with this system a lot the last few days, which might be the cause, but it was previously detecting the hardware properly.

I must have pissed off the puter gods somehow...

better than what happened to me: after installing SP1, the PSU died, forcing me to go into over $100 in debt to my parents...

i only had the computer freeze once after i installed sp1, but so far its gone a day without any problems
