MP3PRO on Winamp3
Well, the thing is I have one way to make those files to work on Winamp3 but I want another way, since my way is not so secure for Winamp3 itself :)
Anyway, here is my way: 1. Download and install from http://www.blorp.com/~peter/ the Winamp v2.x input plugin support plugin. 2. Download from MP3ProZone the MP3Pro winamp 2.x plugin then install it anywhere. 3. Open Winamp, and then the preferences, go down to winamp Winamp v2.x input support, clic on install and locate the "in_MP3PRO.dll" file, let it enabled. 4. Open the winamp3 folder, then the wacs folder. Locate the "cnv_mp3pcm.wac" file then cut it, and past it on the Winamp3 folder (or wherever u want to put it). 5. Enjoy :P Now, thats my way to hear those files, but... is there another way to do it??? ok, thanx :) |
is mp3pro any good???

problems? mp3PRO works fine for me with wa3
didnt even know wa3 had a problem with them |
Did you even bother to take a look at that link? It's not that there's a problem for Winamp3 to play your mp3pro encoded files, it tells you why you SHOULDN'T use mp3pro at all.
Maybe you're just a simple user with no desire to actually KNOW stuff. Go ahead... Use mp3pro, your problem. |
mp3pro is backwards compatible, i believe. thats why they work.
but, you're not getting the entire advertised benefit of mp3pro without the use of a decoder (that did NOT come with the distribution). dont use mp3pro, please. it sucks. |
Quote:
if you use mp3pro, don't ask for any kind of tech support here, just because we can't make our own mp3pro decoder component due to mp3pro licensing fees. use better free formats instead. |
actually...
make a file from any file whit ogg and mp3pro at 48kbps, and then u will see the difference between the two formats, and u will see why i like the better mp3pro. And well, maybe u people dont like the sound format, but thats not reason enought to say "it sucks !!!!!" i mean, maybe thats for u, but there is people that like it, and plus, if u dont have a correct decoder for the mp3pro format, it still can be heard on any mp3 player (not same quality but still u can heard it :P) anyway, thanx people for ur kind answers ;) |
well, most of serious people out there consider *any* 48kbps sounding really bad (reminder: it's 2002, we have cheap 100gb+ harddrives, cheap supah-fast cdrw drives and cheap cdr media). obviously mp3pro sounds "better" at that bitrate, but it's still usually unacceptable, and not worth the trouble of getting mp3pro decoding to work.

eventually people will have super fast network connections, huge capacity drives and other media and we will all be using raw storage.
compression is for losers. |
