I love the skin! It seems to be highly usable AND highly stylized, a trait that is missing in a lot of WA3 skins. As far as technical stuff is concered, I'm fairly clueless...good luck though, PLEASE DO NOT GIVE UP!!! There are too many skins that I love but never get completed.

One thing, about the buttons, how about makinging them animated when the mouse is over them? I liked the design with no buttons on the outerpart (aka. the metalic looking part) but that obviously you have to have the buttons. Maybe have very faint circles that when the mouse goes over them they get darker and text (maybe "THG") shows up. Same thing with everything else, if stuff just lights up a little bit (very slightly) when the mouse goes over it it makes the skin seem very active and alive rather than just a cool looking bitmap.

anyways, if you want opinions on anything else about the design just ask. I LOVE the orange BTW.

thank you so much for feedback, i am definately not getting the attention i had hoped for after releasing a beta and every bit helps..

one thought i am having is making a small window in the lcd (not sure where yet) but when u move ur mouse over a button it shows what the button does in that window (THG, EQ, PL, ML, OP..etc)

many things have to be done but i really just want to get it set up so color themes work in the next beta so people can start trying to make their own)

i do have plans to give the buttons mouse overs but they will be only slightly noticeable...and of course the shuffle/repeat/xfade will look differently when they are set

if you really need some help on how to do something its almost better to creat a new thread on it otherwise ppl tend not to read threw 4 pages of questions .. imho

Yeah, definitely create a new thread. Skin's going well...everything's technical from here on out so I can't help but I just wanted to say don't give up! Looking great! And yes, you should create a new thread if you haven't already. This one has gotten looooong. :)

to be honest with you, the reason the skin isnt moving forward is because i am an idiot. I have no idea what i am doing and i just havent had the will to go through and try to get it done. ok ok, i sucked it up and broke into the skin again, i am trying to solve the mystery behind the equalizer...it wont equalize! err..whatever its supposed to do, i am not sure what it was..so i cheated and tore apart rpeter's mercury (hehe sorry), i went in and c/ped his equalizer into my groups file and changed everything to the specifications for my skin...now..the fact that it still didnt work leads me to believe that the problem is with how i placed the group on the skin..is there a special way to place the equalizer buttons group or what? lol..sorry

u need to change the places of your player.drawer.options and player.drawer.eq groups in player-normal.xml

don't know why but for some reason player.drawer.eq should be placed after player.drawer.options

yes mouse overs are a good idea lol, what i think i am going to aim for, is the ability to make color themes..this is going to be difficult though because it requires that i change a lot of the images that are on the skin right now...here..ile attach an image of a color theme so u can see why it looks so screwed up

lol..u see?the problem is many images are transparent or alphad so they look screwed up when the colors are change..not to mention the primary buttons which had their icons placed on top of them...i have to recreate the majority of these..so making on-clicks for them shouldnt be difficult to do while i am doing that

yeah orange is a great color but it's not always to easy to gammagroup orangeous images
a neutral tone can be useful in such cases(white or maybe grey)

as for different buttons' states, why not use one single image for every button and just vary the alpha setting of it with maki, i'll help u in this if u need :)

nah, i think i want to have different images...but i might if the different images dont work as planned.

ok, whats your opinion? should i change the primary colors of the skin to be ... essentialy colorless..so that theming it is easier?

is their anyway to make a color theme be the default theme and not the actualy images be the default?

If you don't like the skins, tell the author why and what he/she can to do improve it.
If you just dont like any skins at all, there's no reason for you even beeing here (as it is the skins forum)..
If this is just some prank or postpumping "fun" from you, then stop it..
