Radio Skipping...Plz Help!

HEllo, i have a Linux box setup with a t1 and max users of 200, this isnt my problem i have a friend using the same box with no problems, heres my problem:

When running anything over 24kpbs the sound for listeners skips, yet my friend who has a slower connection than me is fine on 56kbps, heres my specs.

WindowsXP Home
Winamp 2.80
10/100 Comcast @home Internet 150KB/s Down - 15KB/s Upload
800mhz AMD Duron
640mb SDRam
Onboard Soundmax Digital Audio

Can anyone help me?

MeinHerzBrennt 28th September 2002 20:25

is it my cheap soundcard?

Jay 28th September 2002 20:47

you could never support 200 24kbps listeners on a 128kbps uplaod.

MeinHerzBrennt 28th September 2002 21:37

im not hosting the server, didnt you read that? the server is on a T1 Linux Box, that can support it my friend... *sigh*

MeinHerzBrennt 28th September 2002 21:53

fixed it, i made the output winamp2 waveout and it works fine on 64kbps

Jay 28th September 2002 22:07

well you couldn't support 200 listeners on a T1

MeinHerzBrennt 28th September 2002 22:32

*sigh* again, its already supporting 1500 and its T1, dont tell me i cant when i am

Jay 28th September 2002 22:39

That's not a T1 then, I am talking about activly connected listeners not the max listener count setting. We are talking about a 1500kbps connection right?

Please don't take offense I am only trying to help you. I see so many webcasters assuming listeners they can't support.

MeinHerzBrennt 28th September 2002 22:43

well maybe it isnt, i thought T1 was the highest, im sorry for being a jerk, it might be faster but i dont know what, i think OC3 or something he mighta said, but it actually HAD 1500 connect at once

Jay 28th September 2002 22:44

ok just making sure an OCx connection will definately have no problem handling that.

MeinHerzBrennt 28th September 2002 23:07

if u wanna come in, its radio.meinherzbrennt.com

tell me if u skip or lag?

Jay 29th September 2002 00:17

hmmm didn't work, the server says it is currently down if I try to go to it in my browser.

Bean-Net-Ken 29th September 2002 01:09

Problems know as of now are routers to the server, do a tracert to the system's ip if the router is bad coming to you, even if the box was on OC48 it would still lag to all hell.

MeinHerzBrennt 29th September 2002 01:18

its off now, tweaking it and adding mp3's

MeinHerzBrennt 29th September 2002 03:40

back on
