....wow, i missed something didn't I?:igor:
new logo? please explain!
*sigh*. You try to do a new-skin-link thread in an interesting way.....just click the damn logo. :p ;)
wow, this skin is sooooo stylish and those eq bars are frickin cool.
 btw whats mbinner.bmp for? |
thanks :) I hope you clicked the thumbs up :D You can see mbinner.bmp in the screenshot. It's the picture inside the MB. You need the MikroAmp plugin to be able to see it. You skin it by making a little hmtl file called winampmb.txt - My mbinner has got the picture and several links underneath - eg. to Aphex Twin sites and to the rest of my skins. It's worth skinning the mbinner (and the "Mikro" - a little box with the essential features of winamp on it), because it's easy, fun, and quite a lot of people have the mikroamp plugin.
//So, no one has mentioned the animated screenshot yet..... |
i downloaded it but nothing is in the MB...whats wrong??
well, do you have the MikroAmp plugin installed and running? If so, just go to the skin browser (alt-s) load a different skin, wait a couple of seconds, then reload mine. Skinnable plugins like MikroAmp sometimes need that to load their skinnable bits properly.
still nothing at all...
I think you might need to activate the MB-inner function in MikroAmp's settings. Do right-click on Mikro and choose Configure....
I believe the newest version of Mikro disabled the MBInner feature, and replaced it with its own. You need an .ini
I hope not, .ini's are damn annoying - they open up your MB everytime you load a skin with one. But anyway, Skinmaster.co.uk says that 2.51 is the latest version. That's the one I have.
nothing in the config about enabling it:cry:
Rated and reviewed :D  love the animated screenshot, great idea :D

today, when i was walking through town, i passed a guy who was openly smoking pot, in a busy street (it's still illegal here). He had a huge beard, stained yellow. I thought "it's db!" :). He probably had some of whatever you have taken too, he was humming. |

The skin just got published at winamp.com. Even though it has 4.5 stars (thanks reviewer :)), I can't find it in the "Stylish" category (its primary category). I got tired of looking for it after I had searched through 244 skins :hang: At least it's findable in the music section. CLICK THE LINK AND RATE!!! This message has been brought to you by Subliminex Inc. hehe ;) |
Hmm. I crave Coke.
Once again, late feedback. Sorry. With Winamp 2's layout, it's difficult to see skins with space and breathing room, and that's what I like best about this skin. The design doesn't make me squint. :p That said, I think the top part of the mikro is a bit lonely. Just even a thin border or line would help that, methinks. Way to smooth out the eq animation. Looks good. I like the curved border and colour inside the playist and how it compliments the funky picture (dice?) above it. Great glow on the shuf/rep buttons - I like how the whole area subtly lights up. I like the Posbar until it hits the brown logo on the right, where it gets a bit overwhelmed. Also, I'm going to embarrass myself by saying I don't see a balance animation. What am I missing (besides a pair of glasses)? Awesome job. I think I speak for a lot of people here when I say I hope this isn't your last skin (especially since there was noncommital talk of something about a Commander type skin that would have been quite Keen). :p :D :D :D |

Thanks for the comments :) I totally agree about the Mikro - I was actually thinking the same thing earlier today. There's no balance slider. One of the sacrifices of the skin. I tried and I tried to make a glow (a la the shufrep) slide across the top 'prong' of the 3-pronged logo - but I couldn't make it look any good. So that's why there's no balance there at all :D But I figure it rarely gets used, and is easy to use without any animation anyway. Well, I would still be quite Keen to make that skin, but after downloading the game, I discovered that no screenshot-grabbers seem to work with the 16 colour EGA video mode, so I can't get any screenshots :( I'm actually working on a couple of minor skin-type things at the moment (One of them is a collab skin with Atmo and Bobo which was being made for the unfortunately ill-fated collab contest. The collab contest was due on the 28th April this year. We hope to get it done before the '6-month-late' mark, although chances look slim) But I don't know whether I'll take on a full-size solo skin project again... |

Nice skin. You've carried the theme beautifully throughout. Good work. |
Not as late as this update....

Ha! I love this skin, but by far the coolest thing about it is that band-aid graphic!
:D :D :D :D
(2 for the new Mikro, 2 for the band-aid) |
