Shoutcast for Mac?

Well I have made several downloads, but in all honesty, I just don't understand how this thing is supposed to work.

I have an iMac with the latest OSX, and OS9 support. It fits well within all hardware aspects. I want to set this computer up as a server from my nice juicy university connection, but I just don't understand how to work it.

How does this thing work?! Any help at all is appreciated.

PS: Telling me to buy a PC does not count as "help!"

:p

To elaborate, I'm having difficulties installing the software. There really don't seem to be any instructions for anything other than Windows or Unix, and I don't use either one. Despite this, the docs say it's compatible with MacOSX... so if there's something I'm forgetting, I'd love to hear it!

Well SHOUTcast the server is ported to Mac but that doesn't mean that will be all you need, you will still have to find a music player or tool for the mac to source the server, at this point nullsoft doesn't have such a tool as far as I know. In which case you would have to use a Windows PC to source the MAC server. I know there are mac sourcing tools out there I just don't know where they are these days.

I use Audion running under OS X as the audio source. I wish there was a plug-in for iTunes to feed the server (iTunes does a better job dealing with playlists having over 12,000 tracks) but Audion does the job reasonably well.

There's instructions in this thread for getting sc_serv up and running in OS X's terminal.
