Filenames not playing when clicked in explorer
I have files with the characters … , • , — and ¦ (elipsis, bullet, em-dash and broken pipe / alt-0133, alt-0149, alt-0151 and alt-0166, still in the ascii set) that when you try to load them from explorer, or my computer, etc. will not start playing in winamp. when they're clicked, winamp loads, and loads the file, but does not play, and the play button does nothing either. all others work fine, but not these 3, there may be more, but these are the ones I use, and know for sure don't work. they still play if I drag them onto winamp, or onto the playlist just fine, but I do use explorer to lauch MP3s alot.

bugs about non (standard) english characters are noted and the developers are working on the fixes.
should i ask why those characters are in filenames anyway? |
Firstly they're not non-standard english.
they're in my filesnames because I like to have my files with full names, the — and • are because multiple dashes just don't look right, the ¦ is for special use (usually as a colon or extra seperator, and the one on the keyboard doesn't work in a filename either), and … replaces ... (1 character instead of 3, and 3 periods gets truncated by windows to 1 period) Shakira • Pies Descalzos — 11 - Se Quiere… Se Mata.mp3 Noir • Original Soundtrack III ¦ Disk 1 ¦ Blanc Dans — 01 - Aka to Kuro.mp3 |
